Meet The Doctors
Dr. Ruba Amad
Dr. Ruba Amad graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry and graduated as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
While in optometry school, Dr. Amad was part of the Student Texas Optometric Association, the American Optometric Student Association, the Student Optometric Practice Management Association, and the Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. Dr. Amad completed her clinical training at rotations that specialized in pediatric care and vision therapy as well as ocular pathology.
Dr. Amad is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist certified by the Texas Optometry Board in the treatment and management of ocular disease. She is committed to providing quality eye care for adults and children of all ages. She routinely diagnoses and manages eye diseases including glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and macular degeneration. In addition, she co-manages ocular procedures such as cataract surgery and LASIK. Dr. Amad is passionate about treating dry eye disease and fitting specialty contact lenses including RGPs, multifocal contacts, and Ortho-K lenses to manage myopia control.
Dr. Amad is an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the Harris County Optometric Association. She loves to volunteer and give back to the community. Previously, she traveled to Honduras on a mission trip to provide eye care and prescription eyeglasses to the under-served community of Santa Ana, Intibucá.
In her free time, Dr. Amad enjoys traveling the world, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Amad looks forward to being a part of the growing Katy community and getting to know her patients.
Dr. Tracy Thai
Dr. Tracy Thai graduated from The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Minor in Chemistry. Soon after, she attended The University of Houston College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate degree.
While in Optometry school, Dr. Thai was a part of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society, Student Texas Optometric Association, Student Optometric Practice Management Association, and American Optometric Student Association. Dr. Thai completed her clinical training at rotations that specialize in ocular pathology such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and keratoconus.
Dr. Thai is a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist certified by the Texas Optometry Board in the treatment and management of ocular diseases. Dr. Thai is licensed to treat glaucoma, ocular infections, and conditions that require prescription eye drops and systemic oral medications. As a current member of the Texas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and Harris County Optometric Society, Dr. Thai practices full scope optometry using the most up to date studies and the highest standards of care.
As a native Houstonian, Dr. Thai loves to experience the diversity Houston has to offer whether it be trying a new restaurant or watching one of her beloved Houston sports teams. Dr. Thai looks forward to providing the best care and being a part of the growing Katy community.
