What is a Comprehensive Eye Exam?

A Comprehensive Eye Exam (also known as routine vision exam) is an examination of external/internal ocular health, assessment of ocular muscle motility and accuracy of the accommodating/focusing system, and evaluation of the glasses prescription needed to help you see clearly. It is important to get your eyes examined regularly in order to check for any underlying conditions that may affect your health and vision. Many common systemic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension (high blood pressure), elevated cholesterol, and thyroid disease can affect the health of the eyes.
